81-year-old Australian James Harrison is known as a "man with golden blood". It contains antibodies that can cope with the problem of Rh-conflict in the mother and child. When James was 14 years old, he underwent surgery, during which one lung was removed. He saved the lives of strangers, surrendering 6.5 liters of blood. The teenager decided to become a donor. But he did not know how much he could bring. He could not wait for adulthood, so that it was possible to donate blood and plasma. And when he started to do this, it turned out that his blood contains unusually strong and resistant antibodies to the D antigen of the Rhesus factor. Surrendering his unique blood, Harrison saved the lives of newborns and unborn babies literally thousands, according to Science Alert.

His value as a donor was so high that even Harrison's life was insured for $ 1 million. Also from his plasma were preparations for pregnant women. In 2011, James donated blood for the thousandth time, beating the Guinness record. He saved the lives of about 2 million children, including his own daughter. Now he is 81 years old, and he can not donate blood, but doctors have already found a substitute for drugs based on his plasma.
