The Ural Optical-Mechanical Plant launched a series of portable defibrillators. The first batch of devices will go to the Ural Institute of Cardiology in the near future, and from there - to public places in the cities of the Sverdlovsk region.
At one time the director of the Institute of Cardiology, the chief cardiologist of the regional Ministry of Health, Jan Gabinsky, suggested that Evgeny Kuyvashev install portable defibrillators in public places. According to the physician, they will allow to promptly render first aid to people with a heart attack. Defibrillators are easy to use and safe, accordingly, any citizen without medical education and training can save a person's life. The governor supported the idea.
Serial production of defibrillators began at UOMZ in December 2017. At present, the plant signed a contract with the Ural Institute of Cardiology for the supply of 90 defibrillators with a total cost of 6.5 million rubles. The Institute of Cardiology will distribute the received devices - for equipping ambulances, traffic police and fire protection, as well as in city administration, railway stations, airports, museums, schools.
The defibrillator is designed to provide emergency cardiac care in public places and on the streets of the city, as well as in reanimobiles, in particular, for the resuscitation of people with sudden cardiac arrest. It weighs only 2.
65 kilograms, has a self-test system and a mode switch that allows the use of a set of disposable electrodes for both adults and children. The battery needs to be changed every five years.
"This device is capable of making a revolution, becoming a salvation for thousands of Urals. The statistics of European countries are well known: in the case of sudden cardiac arrest in places of mass congestion, the survival rate without a defibrillator is 5%, with a defibrillator - 75%, "notes Jan Gabinsky.
