It is noted that the project will begin its work on July 1, 2018.

The center, which will be financed from the budget of the Ministry of Defense of the country, will collect and process images from satellites for the armed forces of the Czech Republic and NATO. The system will promptly collect all the necessary information for rescuers in the event of liquidation of floods and fires.

According to the Director of Military Intelligence Jan Beroun, the Czech satellite center is created to fulfill its obligations to NATO.

Within the framework of NATO, the center should begin to carry out tasks by the end of 2019. It is planned that they will select specialists and conduct appropriate tests.

As previously reported, URA-Inform, Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that intensive cooperation on security and defense issues (PESCO) will strengthen NATO, but will not become its rival.
