It is mostly about people from the so-called risk group - over 65 years old, as well as people with diabetes, heart disease or obesity. Such data on Tuesday, February 20, was presented by the press secretary of the Czech Ministry of Health Gabriela Shtipanova.
According to her, at the end of last month in the country for 100 thousand residents were recorded 1944 patients with influenza. In 2017, the country recorded 144 deaths associated with complications after the flu.
Mortality associated with influenza and concomitant pneumonia is 435 times more common in patients with heart and lung problems, 240 times in diabetic patients with cardiovascular diseases and 52 times in patients with heart failure.
According to the press secretary of the Ministry of Health, only 6% of Czechs are vaccinated against influenza. In the case of the elderly, this figure is 20-30%.
Recall, as reported URA-Inform, in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region from today, Monday, February 19, the educational process in all schools is suspended.
This decision was made to prevent the spread of the incidence of ARVI and influenza.
