It was built with the participation of Ukrainian specialists. According to the press service of the State Space Agency, the launch of a modernized medium-sized Antares-230 medium-range launch vehicle with the Cygnus transport spacecraft took place at 2:19 pm Kyiv time.

Cargo ship Cygnus will deliver to the International Space Station 3229 kilograms of cargo ordered by NASA. Docking of the ship with the station is scheduled for November 14.

Ukrainian specialists took part in the preparation and launching of the launch, which was the seventh in the history of the project and the second after the upgrade of the launch vehicle.

The main developer of the carrier rocket is the American company Orbital ATK, but the main construction of the first stage was created by the domestic enterprise of the space industry KB South Im.. Yangel and the South Machine-Building Plant. Makarov (both Dnieper) in cooperation with the enterprises of Hartron-ARKOS (Kharkov), Khartron-YUKOM (Zaporozhye), CHEZARA, RAPID (Chernigov) and others.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, in November 2017, it is planned to launch three launch vehicles, created with the participation of Ukraine.
