He also stressed that the tariffs for electricity for the population grew "not because of the introduction of a transparent and logical approach to determining wholesale prices for electricity".

"Tariffs for the population were approved earlier, as early as 2015, and they are not related to the methodology for determining wholesale prices," said the head of the National Commission.

Recall that in 2012 the government of Mykola Azarov signed a memorandum of understanding with ferroalloy enterprises controlled by Kolomoisky, according to which these plants received preferential prices for electricity. The Memorandum was extended until 2014.

According to experts, starting from 2016, when the new calculation method for ORC (Rotterdam +) was introduced, the ferroalloy business of Kolomoisky lost over 1 billion UAH on the difference between the old and new electricity tariffs for industrial enterprises.
