"Bright star" is considered the most large-scale military exercises in the Middle East.

Compared with past exercises that took place in 2009 and numbered 1,300 American military personnel, this year the US will have a small number of people - 200 military.

"Bright Star" was held every two years since 1980, but in 2011 the exercise had to be canceled because of the unstable situation in Egypt.
