The blogger commented on the outrageous statement of the Minister of Social Policy, Andrei Reva, that the Germans spend less of their income on food because they eat less Ukrainians.

So, Reva believes that Ukrainians spend 50% of their income on food because they eat a lot. About this Reva said the other day on the air of the TV channel "112 Ukraine". This is reported by the Economy from the Prophet.

The presenter voiced the statistics of the profile association of trade networks, which says that Ukrainians began to spend more on food, but less to buy products. Due to the fact that prices for a number of food products have risen.

According to statistics, Ukrainian citizens spend 50% of their income on food, 14% in Germany spend food, and in Poland - 25%.

"When we say that the Germans spend (on food) 14% and we are 50%, then there is a system of priorities," said Reva.

"Germans eat a little differently". They have a different diet. Their food culture is very different from ours. Given that the prices for products are approximately the same in Germany and Ukraine. They (Germans) eat less, not because they do not have the opportunity, but because such a culture. And so they spend less than our people, "the minister explained..

In this statement Reva two untruths.

First, food prices in Germany are still higher than in Ukraine. Something is more expensive by 30-50%, and something - in 2 times.

However, "to sympathize with" the Germans in connection with this somehow is not necessary, because the salaries and pensions they are 10-15 times higher than the Ukrainians.

But this is just a mistake of the Ukrainian minister. By ignorance.

But the second lie is much worse.

The share of Germans' expenses for food is much less than that of Ukrainians, not for the reason that the grief-minister Reva.

They spend less on their food from their family budget, because they still have a lot of money left for other human needs - to buy clothes, various other non-food items; On rest and entertainments (trips abroad, in sanatoriums, going to theaters and concerts, and t. ); For medical services; On education and other.

In some developed countries (Benelux, Scandinavian and some others), food costs are only about 10%.

By the way, Goskomstat has not submitted these data for several years (the last time the weight structure for calculating inflation was shown in 2015). Probably not to upset the government ... But I can say that for example, in 2007, Ukrainians spent 55.0% on food, 3.4% on alcohol and cigarettes, 7.2% on clothing and footwear, 11.6%.

The essence of the fluctuations of this parameter is known and understandable to all economists. And, this applies not only to Ukraine and Germany, but all countries.

The more the incomes of citizens in a state, the less their relative spending on food.

Conversely, the lower the incomes, the more they are forced to spend on food.

For example, Ukrainian pensioners now spend on food 70-80% of their pensions, another 10-15% - on housing services (who are subsidies). And for everything else, including treatment, they have almost no money left.

So here one and the other. Either Reva does not know these truisms, or he knows, but he's lying. And for the first, and for the second it is necessary to immediately expel from work!.
