The law on expanding the access of schoolchildren with special needs to education came into force

In Ukraine, Law No. 2053-VIII on Amendments to the Law "On Education" on Access to Persons with Special Educational Needs for Education came into force today.

This document provides that the right of children to education requires different forms of education, in particular remote and individual, reports the Main with the reference to 112 Ukraine.

A separate rule states "the creation of conditions for the education of persons with special educational needs, taking into account their individual needs in conditions of inclusive education".

Concerning the language of education, it is noted that children with special needs should be taught in the most accessible language, in particular with the help of sign language or Braille.

The document includes the definition of a number of concepts in this vein, in particular "a person with special educational needs", "inclusive education", "an individual development program for a person with special educational needs".



Thus, a person with special educational needs is a person who needs additional permanent or temporary support in the educational process in order to ensure his right to education, to promote his personality, improve health and quality of life, increase the level of participation in society.

It is also stipulated that such schoolchildren should provide psychological-pedagogical, correctional-developing and other assistance, and how exactly - the Cabinet will determine.
