In the boarding schools of Donetsk region one of these days passed the graduation party. Among the children who graduated from school are the participants in the "Mentoring" project of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. Children not only found older friends-mentors, but also got the necessary knowledge and skills for living outside the boarding school.
"For more than a year, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has been implementing the" Mentoring "project. It is already possible to talk about important results that we observe every day. The progress of children in school has improved, and thanks to training, master classes, excursions to companies and mentors' councils, some children have already decided on their future profession, "said the head of the project" Mentoring "Natalia Baryshpolskaya.
According to the mentors, thanks to the project they have acquired real friends - children who need their care and attention. Sharing their life experience and sincere warmth, they helped their pupils prepare for an independent life, become more confident in themselves, decide on the future profession. And they will certainly continue their communication, despite the fact that the active part of the project, after more than a year of work, was completed.
"Thanks to the project of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, I met Nina. I had a friend. Little. Careful. One who wants to give warmth, give attention, give time. It so happened that Nina needed support. I had an instant rapport with her. I am happy to share the knowledge that I have. Despite the fact that today Nina is released from the orphanage, we will continue to communicate. She dreams of becoming a teacher, I really believe that we will succeed and she will go to college. In any case, she will need further life support, "said mentor Yulia Akimova.
Children share positive feedback about the project. They say that in a short time in their lives there have been cardinal changes and they are already reflecting on how to live on. "In the project I met my mentor, she is very sociable. We made friends with her, she helps me make plans for the future. We have only the beginning of communication. When I leave the boarding school, we will meet more often, travel to different cities, visit museums. She is very cheerful with me, and it is pleasant to communicate with her ", - the pupil of a boarding school Nina has shared.
The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation made a useful gift to the graduates of boarding schools - a whole suitcase of things necessary for living conditions: dishes, bed linen, towels and other things. "A pan, a frying pan - will have what to cook!" Towels, bed linen are what you need. These are useful gifts. We, when we are released, we have nothing. No dishes, well, they can give, just some kind of bed. And you need to eat, what to cook. Thanks for this! ", - said Nina.
During the work of the project, 11 trainings took place, in which 107 potential mentors were trained. A total of 43 couples "mentor-child". Mentors helped children determine their own way of life, choose a profession and gain useful skills. "We can say that children are becoming more confident, positive, open to the world. Some children from the "Mentoring" project have already chosen a profession for themselves. Many decided on the place of further study - they began to prepare, tightened those items that need to be taken. There are children who were previously non-contact, and now opened. These are positive results that some psychologists can not achieve over the years, "said the coordinator of the project" Mentoring "Dmitry Zubtsov.
The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation continues to monitor the situation in pairs and provide counseling support to children and their mentors, as well as to social services. "We understand that we can not replace their parents, but to become good friends and support the orphans is one of the main tasks of the Foundation. We will remain in contact with children and mentors, for this we create a secure communication platform in the social network Facebook ", - said the head of the program" Orphanhood - no! "Natalia Baryshpolskaya.
