Ukrainian public figures, bloggers and opinion leaders wrote an open letter to Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak demanding that the journalist of Gromadsky, Anastasia Stanko, be thanked by the Defense Ministry.
The letter was published on June 13 on the site of "Tverezi ppoglyad".
As noted in the appeal to Poltarak, the award went to "a man who frankly laughs at this award," and also sarcastically requires some more apologies from the MO.
"The value and significance of gratitude from the Minister of Defense in the eyes of the military and society are discredited. Gratitude contradicts the grounds described in the statute of the celebration. All three years of the war, Stanko did everything to not answer these grounds, but she received a letter. At the same time, the lion's share of servicemen and honest journalists, who are at the forefront of their lives, did not receive such distinctions, "the letter says..
In addition, according to the authors, the appeal of this award is publicly humiliated by the Minister of Defense himself.
"In the eyes of society and, worst of all, subordinates. And also us, those who from the very beginning supported the faith in victory, while those like Stanko spread panic, negativity and undermined the reputation of the army and law enforcement agencies of the state, "write the authors of the letter.
"Therefore, we kindly ask you to conduct explanatory work with subordinates so that they responsibly concern the drawing up of lists for a reward or gratitude, and take into account all the circumstances, and not only their own sympathy for individual candidates for gratitude or rewards," is summarized in the letter.
In the comments to the open appeal, dozens of users of social networks left comments in which they unanimously support the initiators of the letter.
Also the letter itself has already spread on its pages well-known bloggers and journalists.
As reported by the "Observer", earlier the network was outraged by the fact that Anastasia Stanko received gratitude from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
In particular, Stanko recalled her ambiguous statements and publications, as well as the scandal that took place in the summer of 2016, Then "Gromadske" published a report by Stanko and her colleagues Konstantin Reutsky from the front-line region of Avdeevka.
The press center of the headquarters of the ATU accused journalists of revealing the positions of Ukrainian troops in the Avdeevka area. They were also a journalist Yulia Polukhina from the Russian "Novaya Gazeta".
Subsequently, the Security Service suspended the accreditation of Stanko and Reutsky, but later the decision was reconsidered.
