Experts from Britain called the refrigerator door the worst place for storing eggs. In their opinion, it is more correct to put eggs on the middle shelf, where a constant temperature is maintained, writes Rosbalt with reference to the Daily Mail.

As the newspaper notes, discussion of this issue initially provoked heated debate, but then the experts nevertheless agreed on the opinion.

The door is the warmest place in the refrigerator, because when it is opened, the temperature constantly fluctuates. According to the experts of Good Housekeeping magazine, eggs should be kept in original packages on the middle shelf. And according to culinary experts, it is unacceptable to keep eggs on the door, as "constant shaking thinens the proteins, and the flavors of other products can penetrate into the shell".

The British Egg Information Service advises housewives to store eggs in boxes at a constant temperature below 20 degrees Celsius away from smelling products, as according to BEIS, eggs easily absorb odors.

Storage of eggs at low temperatures, among other things, excludes the risk of reproduction of the causative agent of salmonella.

Good Housekeeping recognizes that in supermarkets eggs are stored outside of refrigeration facilities, but this is often justified by the temperature of the premises, which is below 20 degrees.

However, according to some culinary experts, the taste of eggs will be best if you hold them for a while in the warmth before cooking.
