Presenter Mila Eremeeva shared that her career on television was not without unpleasant situations. She was repeatedly threatened with dismissal even because of small mistakes, but one of the most severe cases was when a colleague in the workshop, Yuri Tretyak, directly said that she did not need to speak Ukrainian. As Eremeeva explained, since she was born in Odessa, she communicated in Russian for a significant part of her life, so it was not easy for her to switch to Nightingale live. The presenter began to independently improve her language skills, so such reproaches hurt her. She spoke about the incident in the project “Tiles of the Great Place”.
" And I’m from Odessa and have spoken Russian all my life, although I studied Ukrainian at school. But working live requires you to think freely in Ukrainian. I started studying it myself. Do you understand what it means to communicate live in Ukrainian It was stressful for the body. The translator in your head is going crazy and doesn’t understand what you want to say,” the presenter shared.
As Mila Eremeeva recalled, then she could not formulate the thought correctly and used a lot of Russianisms, but still tried to speak pure Ukrainian. However, during a difficult period, instead of supporting Tretyak’s colleague, she ran into criticism: “As I remember now, it was Atlas Weekend, we were sitting and he told me: “Maybe you won’t speak Ukrainian? You're doing it ugly" However, according to Eremeeva, the presenter was quickly overtaken by karma for harsh words. About six months after this conversation he was fired.
" It’s just that boomerang exists not only on Instagram,” noted Eremeeva.
