On March 28, a big concert in memory of People's Artist of Ukraine Stepan Giga took place at the Sports Palace, which was held with a full sold-out. All sectors and fan zones were filled with spectators - thousands of people came to honor the memory of the artist, whose songs became part of Ukrainian culture.
The concert started on time and lasted almost three hours. The evening opened with the song “This Dream” performed by Stepan Gigi in a recording, along with archival footage from the artist’s life broadcast on the screens. Throughout the concert, the event was accompanied by a memory video, which created a special atmosphere of gratitude and unity.
The first to take the stage were the artist’s children – Stepan Giga Jr. and Kvitoslava Giga, who opened the concert and presented new songs, and Kvitoslava performed in a duet with Roman Scorpio. Then dozens of artists appeared on the stage, who in their own style reinterpreted the legendary compositions: Stepan Giga Jr. performed a duet with alyona alyona with the song “Gold of the Carpathians,” while Kvitoslava Giga, together with Roman Scorpion, performed the song “I’ll Give Everything for You,” the TIK group led by Viktor Bronyuk performed “Gold of the Carpathians,” Nikita Kiselev, FIINKA and Ivan Navi sang “I put.
During the concert, there was also a charity fundraiser for the Phoenix battalion, organized by the Modern Ukraine charity foundation, and the Lisapetny battalion, together with Vasyl Baydak, performed a special number, “This collection, this collection,” dedicated to the charitable mission of the evening. The concert was filled with a bright mood, but the program also included deep, dramatic compositions - in particular, in addition to “Yavorina”, the song “Black Roses” was performed by the young singer LADA.
A special feature of the concert was that a number of songs were played two or even three times in different interpretations - in particular “This Dream”, “Gold of the Carpathians”, “The Twilight of Autumn Does Not Know” and “I Put My Love on the Altar”, which once again emphasized their cult status and the love of the audience. During the concert, television filming also took place, so very soon viewers will be able to see the full version of the event on the air of the Suspilne Kultura channel.
Despite the air raid alarm that sounded during the event, the audience did not leave the Palace: some of the artists were unable to perform in front of the hall and performed their numbers only for television filming, but the atmosphere of the evening remained extremely warm. People continued to sing Stepan Giga's songs even near the Sports Palace.
The concert was accompanied by presenters Grits Drapak, who worked with Stepan Giga for many years during his lifetime, and the famous TV and radio presenter Katya Stashko. The concert was organized by Roman Sloboda, a producer and organizer known for such projects as “Svityaz Fest”, “Family Fest” and large-scale tours with Ukrainian artists. PR support for the event was provided by Marina Osaula, founder of the Pidhid PR Agency. The stage director of the event was Mikhail Kharchenko, a young, talented and already successful director who realized the large-scale stage vision of this evening.
An important event of this day was that it was during the concert that the petition to award Stepan Giza the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously was closed - it received the required number of votes, more than 25 thousand signatures.
The concert in memory of Stepan Giga became not just a musical event, but a real manifestation of people's love. Thousands of people sang, danced and lived these songs together - both in the hall and outside it.
The artist’s family was deeply touched by this reception and with warm emotions went to Transcarpathia, from where they will continue their tour of Ukraine.
This evening once again proved: the songs of People's Artist of Ukraine Stepan Giga were, are and will remain favorites for Ukrainians.
