35-year-old singer Nadezhda Dorofeeva shared that while researching Ukrainian music from different times, she found an incredibly stylish composition that made a strong impression on her. We are talking about Nazariy Yaremchuk’s track “Ozovisya”, which was created back in 1980.
The artist was pleasantly shocked by the sound of the song, but could not perform it due to the fact that the work did not suit her vocals. The performer spoke about the musical “find” in the project “Dim Sound Recording”.
“Nazariy Yaremchuk’s track “Ozovisya” is unreal. It didn't suit me vocally, but when I played it to my musicians, they said: \! This is such a style,” the singer shared.
Nazariya Yaremchuk recorded the composition “Ozovisya” more than 45 years ago with the vocal and instrumental ensemble “Muziki”. The melody for the song was written by Vyacheslav Didenko, and the lyrics by Anatoly Fartushnyak. The track combines lyrical motifs characteristic of Yaremchuk’s work, as well as stylish jazz sound.
By the way, as Nadya Dorofeeva shared, although she grew up in a Russian-speaking environment, Ukrainian music was an important part of her life thanks to her stepfather. During family trips, he often included compositions by Russian authors.
