Singer MARUV (real name Anna Korsun), who fled Ukraine after the start of the big war and took a silent position regarding the genocide of her native people, unexpectedly decided to whiten her reputation in the eyes of Ukrainians. She recorded a track on Nightingale, the release of which was planned for early March.
On her personal page on TikTok, the artist actively publishes a video with a fragment of a new composition, where the lines sound: “My mother told me, don’t let go, donya, mow. Love is just fun, then there will be dew before your eyes." In her traditional manner, in all videos the performer appeared in front of the camera in revealing images.
However, MARUV’s decision to sing in Ukrainian did not melt the hearts of Ukrainian citizens at all. Users began to emphasize that the performer remembered her roots too late; moreover, they noticed one nuance in her work. In parallel with the recording of the Ukrainian-language composition, the artist continues to release tracks in Russian, as if trying to “sit on two chairs”.

Let us remind you that until February 24, 2022, MARUV was actively developing her career in Ukraine, moreover, she gave birth to her first child in Kyiv.
However, the singer had no desire to stay in her homeland, so she and her husband went abroad. As blogger Bogdan Bespalov noted, citing sources close to the fugitive, she made this decision for a reason.
“They gave birth in Kyiv so that in the event of Ukraine’s victory they could say that they were not traitors, and they were silent because they cared about the safety of the child. If they understand that things won’t work out with Ukraine, then it’s better for them to return to Moscow and start all over again,” the insider noted..
