Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II stripped controversial American producer Harvey Weinstein of honorary title.

So, by order of the monarch, the Hollywood film producer, who is serving a prison sentence for rape, no longer bears the title of Honorary Chevalier of the Order of the British Empire. This is stated in the government bulletin The Gazette.

Note that in 2004, Weinstein received the title for his contribution to the development of the British film industry.

In March this year, the producer was sentenced to 23 years in prison for sexual assault.
