Ukrainian singer Elena Topolya (formerly known as Alyosha) has spoken about the “terrible” night in late June 2025 when a Russian missile attack severely damaged her Kyiv apartment, and the difficulties of rebuilding the house. The stage star gave a tour of her home while participating in the YouTube project “By the Houses”.

“It was lights out at 3:20. I was already falling asleep when Ruslan said that he wanted to stop by for literally ten minutes to talk. We talked for a long time, and I fell asleep right at the table, then I went to the nursery and fell asleep deeply. After 20 minutes, the second alarm began, and within 20 seconds the arrival took place.. We couldn’t understand anything, the wave was very powerful,” the celebrity recalled.

She described the moment of impact as a powerful shock wave. After the explosion, she and her family ran outside, where they saw debris and smoke rising from the upper floors.

The singer showed the scale of destruction and ongoing restoration work. Taras Topolya previously reported that the apartment was “shattered to pieces”: the blast wave bent and tore out the armored front door from the locks. The couple's three children - Roman (12 years old), Mark (9 years old) and Maria (5 years old) - and Taras himself, fortunately, were not at home during the attack.

The family applied for a government financial assistance program and assessed the damage to the apartment.

However, they admitted that they began repairing windows and balconies before receiving official approval. The couple is trying to keep the renovation simple, focusing on cosmetic renovations where possible and not replacing all the furniture.
