The press service of the Russian embassy in the United States, published on the page of the diplomatic mission in the social network Twitter, said that the authorities of the Russian Federation would not have taken "retaliatory measures" against Washington if the US leadership had not approved a new law on sanctions against Russia.
The embassy said:
"If there were no expulsion of Russian diplomats and closure of access to Russian diplomatic credentials in the United States by the previous administration, as well as the sanction law passed under the current administration, we would not have to resort to these measures. The exchange of "injections" is not our choice ".
Recall, on August 9, US State Department spokesman Heather Nauert at a briefing said that the decision of the Russian government to reduce the number of employees of the US embassy is regrettable.
