Manchester United are keeping an eye on the situation with Scott McTominay, who may return to the English Premier League after the end of the season. The Scottish fighter lost the 2024 snail from the Mancunian club and moved to the Italian Napoli, where he quickly became one of the team’s key players.
McTominay immediately adapted to football in Italy and played an important role in the Napoli warehouse. The Scot has become one of the team's main players in the center of the field, helping them fight for high positions in the championship. This contribution, which was especially noteworthy during the championship season, was the result of which the Neapolitans won the Serie A title.
According to TEAMtalk, negotiations between McTominay and Napoli regarding a new contract have reached a dead end. The contractual agreement with the Italian club has been insured until the summer of 2028, but the parties have not yet been able to reach home ownership before continuing cooperation on new minds.
If the situation does not change, the coming summer could become an important moment for the upcoming footballer. With only one season remaining until his contract expires in 2027, Napoli may consider selling McTominay so as not to risk spending it in the future on less brilliant minds.
It turns out that the Italian club is worth close to 30 million euros for the 29-year-old team. This amount itself can become a guideline for potential buyers, as Napoli hopes to open the door for negotiations regarding the transfer of a Scot.
Among the clubs that are already affected by the situation is Manchester United. McTominay spent much of his career at Old Trafford, coming through the club's academy and making his debut for the first team in 2017.. For the Mancunians, they have played 255 matches in all tournaments, first in 2024 they will be deprived of England.
After moving to Napoli, McTominay continued to perform at a high level and withdrew new evidence from Serie A. His versatility, physical readiness and ability to regularly connect before attacks have made him an important element of the team.
