Head coach of the national team of Ukraine Andrea Maldera, ahead of the match against Ugorshchina in the 4th round of the League of Nations-2026/27, spoke about the tactical decisions of the coaching staff and put before criticism.
The Italian footballer explained why in the remaining matches the central defenders were victorious in the positions of the extreme defenders. According to Malderi, the coaching staff is working on a warehouse of universal football players who adapt to different tactical schemes.

The coach of the national team of Ukraine also commented on the criticism addressed to him. Maldera said that she accepts the negative reaction as an integral part of the coach’s work, but calls for maintaining equality in the middle of the team.
“Please don’t let them be angry at me, or at my players. My boys are young, they worked hard and gave their best until this day. I hope that tomorrow we will also give our maximum. We accept all criticism as we go. The world of football is such that we need to strive for equality, especially in the middle of the team, and continue to play in football,” said the coach.
