Player and captain of the Croatian national team Luka Modric commented on his team’s devastating defeat in the National League match against England (0:7).
“It is important to know the explanation for this statement: no combat, no fouls, no aggression, totality of unity. I've been here for 20 years already, but the first time is less than disgraceful after the match! You can lose it, because now the stench is simply more beautiful. Otherwise, it is unacceptable to develop the axis like this and ruin the reputation that we have gained through fate.. I'm really embarrassed.
You can't rob football like that. It would seem that there are at least five less people in us. It was a catastrophic evening. It’s not our fault to call one or the other, but we may lose one. I have never had such a feeling after a match.
We need to get together, and another important match is waiting for us. We can show our true face, show that we have sporting anger and pride, passion, will and unity that cannot be spent in one day. Looting like this is unacceptable. Today we would have lost to teams from the third division.
We hope that Split’s patients will be with us, supporting us, and in the best possible way.. In front of us - with a fighting spirit. Deprived of the fighters on the field, which we have always been, we can turn this borg. “Today’s game was seriously alarming,” Modric said to Marca.
