Mulbarton Wanderers put a stop to the super-smart opposition from Woodford Town, having won the re-match in another qualifying round of the FA Cup. On the second night the team managed to win 2:0 with a double if Jarvis secured their place before the start of the season and will be able to compete with Gloucester Town..

An unprecedented overhaul was made following the decisions of the Football Association (FA) Subcommittee. The first match ended with Mulbarton defeating 2:1, but Woodford filing a successful appeal due to a gross violation of the rules by the referee.

Just before Woodford's team took a penalty, the attacking team immediately ran to the penalty area. In addition, in order to recognize the penalty kick again, the judge mercifully awarded the penalty kick to Mulbarton.

The scandal that followed the match and the decision about its over-destruction created a great stir. The game gathered 805 spectators in the stands, which became an absolute record for spectators in the history of Mulbarton. Following the historic exit to the third qualifying round of the tournament, the club earned ?3,375 in prize money, while Woodford collected ?1,125.

The team representatives did not show any emotion after the final whistle. First team manager Denny Self said in an interview with the BBC:.

" Her support was incredible"

The club’s second coach, Ben Thompson, is already amazed at the future:.

" This will be the most important game in our history, and we will need patients again. Voni is our 12th gravel"

The main hero of the match was Ashley Jarvis, who scored an offensive goal, also signifying the fantastic support from the stands: “There was a wonderful atmosphere. The whole village has come, and we are here to help you."

Guess what, Mulbarton Wanderers will play Gloucester City (a team from the same division) in the third qualifying round on Saturday, Sunday 3rd.
