The new Ukrainian government is developing a number of new economic instruments to support demography, which in the context of a full-scale war has become one of the most serious threats to the country. In particular, it is planned to introduce a system of grading interest rates on loans for housing purchased under the ДOselya program, depending on the number of children: the more there are, the less the family will have to overpay.
Prime Minister Sergei Koretsky stated this during the hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada on August 21, which was broadcast by the Rada channel.. In addition, he announced the introduction of an extensive set of measures aimed at supporting families with children.. To a question from a people’s deputy, Koretsky replied that the government is indeed considering creating “in one form or another” a mechanism to help newborn children in the future. He did not specify which instrument could be introduced, but assured that it would be presented in the near future.
The Prime Minister stressed that the difficult situation with demography in Ukraine is the focus of his government’s attention.. Therefore, several different programs have already been planned to solve this problem..
“For example, in eOseli, interest rates for the first child will be reduced in the near future, and for the next child they will be even lower,” Koretsky announced.
In addition, children of Ukrainians with the status of internally displaced persons (IDPs), born not in temporarily occupied territory, but in territory controlled by Ukraine, will also be able to receive such status.
“In general, with children there is a large complex of tasks and nuances. But economic support comes first, and for the future as well,” the head of the Cabinet assured.
