The visit of US Presidential Special Representative Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Kyiv, which was expected in the second half of August and was associated with Ukraine's Independence Day, has not yet been confirmed. At the same time, the possible arrival of Donald Trump’s two key negotiators to Ukraine has been talked about for more than three months, and at the end of July it was reported that they agreed to visit Kyiv for the first time.
Suspilne reports the lack of confirmation of plans, citing an American official in the White House, who spoke on condition of anonymity..
According to him, the possibility of a trip between Witkoff and Kushner to the Ukrainian capital was indeed discussed, but it has not yet been finally agreed upon.
In addition, Kushner's schedule is now largely filled with activities in the Middle East.. On August 16, he held talks in Cairo with Hamas political leader Khalil al-Hayya, and on August 17, he met in Israel with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Earlier it was reported that Trump's representatives could come to Kyiv in the second half of August and take part in events marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence.

President Vladimir Zelensky spoke about the possible arrival of American negotiators on May 8.
After the report of the Ukrainian negotiating team, he said that Kyiv and Washington are coordinating the schedule of necessary meetings and Ukraine is expecting Trump’s representatives “at the turn of spring and summer”.
However, the trip did not take place in May.
On May 31, Zelensky returned to this topic again. Then he said that he hoped to see Witkoff and Kushner in Ukraine in about two weeks. According to the president, the Ukrainian negotiating team received a signal from the Americans that they were ready to come, but the implementation of the plan depended on the situation in the Middle East.
Zelensky then specifically drew attention to the fact that the American negotiating team, which is negotiating with Russia to end the war, has never been to Ukraine.
