President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky approved a law aimed at improving the mechanism for declaring the integrity of judges and their family ties. The innovations make it mandatory to declare not only property assets, but also relationships with close relatives. The Verkhovna Rada reported this on Wednesday, June 24, in its official Telegram channel.

. According to the law, the declaration obliges persons to indicate information about the legal origin of their property.

The verification of submitted declarations will be carried out by the Higher Qualification Committee, ensuring public access to relevant data, and national control of the property status of judges will remain a function of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption. However, the implementation of specialized supervision over judicial declarations is assigned specifically to the VKKS.

. This list includes relatives who have held high government positions over the past five years. In case of concealment of such information, liability is provided.

. Its adoption is one of the defining steps of Ukraine in fulfilling the requirements of the Ukraine Facility program and the recommendations of the European Commission.
