Fenerbahce officially announced the appointment of Ismail Kartal as the head coach of the team.

The press service of the Istanbul club informed about this. The parties entered into a contract in terms of one term, which will last until the summer of 2027.

At the position of the mentor, Kartal replaced Zeki Murat Gjole, who took over the team at the end of last season after the resignation of Domenico Tedesco.

For the 65-year-old specialist, this is already a quarter of the appointment of the head coach of Fenerbahce. Having previously won the Istanbul club in the 2014/15 season, in the 2022 season, as well as in the 2023/24 campaign.

During his coaching career, Kartal worked for low-ranking Turkish clubs, including Karabukspor, Sivasspor, Mardinspor, Altay, Malatyaspor, Orduspor, Konya Seker, Eskishehirspor, Gaziantepspor, Ankaragucu, Rizespor and Konyaspor. Similarly, there is evidence of work in Iranian Persepolis.

It was previously reported that Fenerbahce was close to signing Mallorca forward Vedat Murica, who could become one of the first newcomers to the team under the leadership of Kartal.
