Ukrainian poetess Lina Kostenko read her iconic poem “Krila” for the 414th separate brigade of unmanned systems “Ptah Madyar”. The unit noted that for the military defending Ukraine from the sky, it is “a great honor” to feel “the sincere support of the legend of Ukrainian literature.”. The video was distributed by the publishing house “Ababagalamaga” and “Ptakhi Madyara” on Facebook.

The brigade noted that the poem, written long before the advent of drone warfare, acquired a new symbolic meaning. Today “Kril” is considered the unofficial anthem of pilots and all defenders of the Ukrainian sky.

“For the soldiers of our brigade this poem is special, because it talks about the freedom that heaven gives to a person. About those wings that today protect our freedom... Thanks to Lina Vasilyevna Kostenko for her voice, which gives us strength,” wrote “Birds of Madyar”.

The 414th separate brigade of unmanned systems " The unit was created in 2022 by Robert Brovdi with the call sign “Madyar”, who was engaged in entrepreneurial activities before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.

From a small group of aerial reconnaissance officers, the unit progressed to a separate brigade, which it became in December 2024. Today its fighters perform reconnaissance, fire adjustment, use of attack drones, electronic warfare and protection of the Ukrainian military in various sectors of the front.. The unit also trains operators, tests new technologies and supports other parts of the Defense Forces.

Poem by Lina Kostenko “Krila”.

And it’s true, we don’t need to cry on the ground.

There is no earth, then there will be sky.

There is no field, there will be will.

I can't bet there will be gloom.

In tune, melodiously, truly a bird.

What about people What about people

Live on earth. Doesn't fly on its own.

And the krill is flying! And the krill is flying!

The stink, those wings, are not full of fluff,.

And from truth, honesty and trust.

Who - with loyalty to the kohanna.

For whom - from eternal ruin.

Who has the breadth to work?.

Who - with generosity on turbos.

Who has songs, or hopes,.

Either with poetry or with dreams.

People never fly.

And the krill is flying! And the krill is flying!

Recently, Lina Kostenko presented a new collection called “Wind from Mars”, which was published by the publishing house “Ababagalamaga” and contains texts for more than three decades - from the 1990s to 2026. The entire initial circulation of the book of 10 thousand copies was sold out through pre-orders, which is why the publisher immediately prepared an additional edition.
