Dynamo Kiev forward Matviy Ponomarenko shared his thoughts on the role of team veteran Andriy Yarmolenko in the development of young football players for the capital club. The forward’s words are directed by the press service of Dynamo Kiev.

Ponomarenko notes that Yarmolenko closely resembles the image that he previously played either from the stands or on TV, and now I can easily match up with the proven winger and take off.

" The difference is that now I can go to something new, talk, drink for the sake of. Andriy Mikolayovich gives love to young football players – this is a great testimony that will definitely come in handy for us in the future,” said Ponomarenko.

The forward also said that Yarmolenko demonstrates professionalism with a strong butt and does not allow himself to relax in the face of great evidence and the possible end of his career.

" It is possible that he intends to end his career without ending his career, rather than give himself the necessary relief. Yarmolenko will no longer become the winner, working towards the end of every moment of the match, while tackling in training,” the striker added.

Ponomarenko also encourages the young team of Dynamo Kiev to inherit Yarmolenko’s position in football.

In the 2025/26 Ukrainian Premier League season, Ponomarenko became the highest scorer in the championship, and was later recognized as the highest young player of the season.
