The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Olga Stefanishyna said that our state has conducted an examination for the Gulf countries on the issue of countering attacks by Shahed kamikaze drones, agreements have been agreed upon, among other things, with the government in Washington. And now Kyiv is negotiating access to interceptor missiles for air defense. During an interview with Suspilny, she explained that it was important for our state to show partners that it can not only offer its political position, concern or sympathy, but also practical assistance - “immediate action and immediate effect.”.

“These drones were developed and transferred to Russia deliberately for attacks on cities with the aim of killing civilians, and not for use on the front line,” Stefanishina recalled about the “Shaheds,” adding that their strikes on Ukraine since December 2022 have become one of the key elements of Russian aggression.

Iran is using the same technology against its opponents in the Middle East.. She stressed that the international community should not ignore the role of Russia and China in supporting the Iranian regime.

Stefanishyna also added that Ukrainian experience in countering kamikazes and access to interceptor missiles are issues that are not directly related, but with the spread of the geography of the conflict, the need for such means will only grow.

Today Ukraine is negotiating with European partners to avoid interruptions in arms supplies.
