Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that after years of conflict, his country is ready to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as the territory of Azerbaijan.

“Peace is possible if, in all our international relations, not only today, but also in the future, we clearly record that we recognize the territory of 29,000 as the Republic of Armenia.. 800 square kilometers, more specifically, the territory of the Armenian SSR, within which we gained independence in 1991, and we not only do not have, but will never have any territorial claims against other countries, ”Pashinyan’s press service quotes.

Pashinyan stressed that a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan would become real if both countries “clearly, without ambiguities and pitfalls, recognize each other’s territorial integrity and undertake not to present territorial claims to each other today or ever”.

Earlier, on condition of anonymity, a senior Azerbaijani official told Politico that Baku welcomes Yerevan's intention to sign a peace agreement..

On April 23, Azerbaijan installed a new checkpoint on the road to Karabakh, in the Lachin corridor, which Armenia called a flagrant violation of the 2020 ceasefire agreement.
