The firm anchoring of the Kremlin forces in territories that are partially controlled by the occupier is unlikely to bring peace to Europe, but will be the first precedent of the triumph of aggression since the end of World War II.. Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke about this and more in his The Times column..

“Imagine for a moment that Vladimir Putin’s visions of glory came true. Let's assume he has consolidated his control over all the territories of Ukraine, which are now partially controlled by Russian troops.. What if no one wanted to lift a finger when he annexed this conquered territory and its fearless people to Russia”.

Will it bring peace? Would the world be safer? Would you be safe? the British prime minister rhetorically asks. And immediately replies:.

“In our hearts we know the answer. Such a parody would be the greatest victory of aggression in Europe since World War II.. We know that Putin will not stop at the dismemberment of Ukraine. Just last week, he compared himself to Peter the Great and assigned Russia the eternal right to “take back” any territory…”.

At the same time, it is now important to speed up the supply of weapons, and to support the economy of the warring country - to help create alternative routes for Ukrainian exports, the prime minister is convinced.

Britain and allies must take the necessary four steps to buy time for Ukraine.

Ensure the supply of weapons, equipment, ammunition and training much faster than the invader.

Preserve the performance of key state functions by Kyiv: payment of salaries, functioning of schools, restoration.

Development of alternative land routes to support the economy, given the actions of the Kremlin, such as blocking Ukrainian ports.

Release of Ukrainian grain and subsequent export of Ukrainian food to other countries.
