Bloomberg analyst Ilan Lake is confident that Russia should be excluded from international organizations dealing with international law, since it appears to him to be a second-class country. He urged to closely monitor the influence of Moscow on the activities of international organizations. "We need to monitor the influence of Russia and its participation in organizations much more closely than other countries have to treat Russia as a member of the international community of the second class," - said the analyst of the publication. In his opinion, Russia acts "as a termite" from the inside, undermining and discrediting international organizations. Moscow's involvement in their activities "too often undermines the institutions themselves," he said..

As an example of such subversion, he cited the situation in the UN Security Council, "where the Russian veto protected the Syrian dictator from responsibility for the use of chemical weapons". Also, in his opinion, "it can be seen in Interpol, through which Russia is trying to arrest oppositionists". The analyst of the publication assures that the West should "drive Russia" out of committees, commissions and working groups that are related to ensuring compliance with international law.
