Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of the head of Kuzbass Aman Tuleyev. "In connection with the statement of the Governor of the Kemerovo region Tuleev A. on early termination of powers I decree: To accept the resignation of Governor of the Kemerovo region Tuleyev A. at their own will, "- said in a decree published on the Kremlin's website. Temporary acting head of the region appointed Vice-Governor Sergei Tsivilev.
The decree comes into force from the date of its signing.
Elections of the new governor of the Kemerovo region will be held on a single voting day on September 9, the Central Election Commission. Aman Tuleyev announced his resignation on Sunday morning.
"I consider myself to be the right, conscious, the only true solution, because with such a heavy weight as governor, well, you can not morally can not," - he explained his step. After the fire in the SEC "Winter Cherry", the victims of which were 64 people, Tuleyev was criticized a lot. He did not come to the burning SEC, because his motorcade could interfere with the work of firefighters; he asked for forgiveness for what happened with Putin, and not at the relatives of the deceased;
he called the "buzoters" of the Kemerovo residents who came to the square the day after the fire. 73-year-old Aman Tuleyev permanently led the region for more than 20 years - since 1997. Over the years, rumors of his resignation have appeared repeatedly, most recently - last year, when the governor for a few months disappeared from the field of view in connection with the operation on the spinal column. But Tuleyev always outplayed ill-wishers, remaining at the helm of the Kemerovo region.
