Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev supported the idea of ??creating an educational center in which Mansi children living in the Sverdlovsk region can not only acquire knowledge, but also adopt the customs of their people, learn traditional activities, socialize and receive professional skills. Tatiana Gogoleva, a State Duma deputy and member of the Committee on Nationalities Affairs, announced on January 29 the proposal to create such a center in the village of Polunochnoye Ivdelsky urban district, in which Sverdlovsk Mansi lives. "The issues of protecting the interests of small peoples are a state priority in Russia and are under the constant control of the President. In the Sverdlovsk region, a working group has been created and is working to address the problems of indigenous small peoples, Mansi. It consists of representatives of government bodies, public organizations and the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Sverdlovsk region. Support measures cover almost all spheres: education, health, social protection, culture, employment, "said Evgeny Kuyvashev.

In the Sverdlovsk region, all Mansi - 109 people - live in the Ivdelsky urban district. 63 Mansiysk lead a traditional way of life. At the same time, children, as a rule, receive education in educational institutions away from home.

Gogoleva already appealed to Evgeny Kuyvashev two years ago with a request for financial assistance for the reconstruction of the boarding school in the village of Polunochnoye so that the Mansi children could study in close proximity to their taiga households. Then in the three-story building was partially carried out repairs. Now in it there is an elementary school №3 and a boarding school in which 15 Mansi live and study. They study not only traditional school subjects, but also Mansi language.

On the eve of Gogoleva proposed to create a center at the boarding school in which young Mansi could socialize, learn traditional crafts and crafts, get a professional education.

"As for social sustainability, it's as old as the world. The world did not invent anything better than to strengthen a person through education. There is a popular opinion that the children of indigenous peoples are neglected and unlearnable. No. Everything depends on the desire to find smart management decisions, "- said Tatiana Gogoleva.

Now with the children of Mansi in Midnight working specialist for the peoples of the North, PhD in Philology Dina Gerasimova, who owns not only the Mansi language, but also other languages ??of the Finno-Ugric group. The meeting was also attended by the teacher of history and social studies from Karpinsk Malvina Aselbor, who is ready to move in order to work with children in the Midnight. Evgeny Kuyvashev supported the initiative. He instructed the Ministries of Economics and Finance, together with the municipal authorities, to resolve the issue with the end of repairs at the boarding school of Midnight.
