North Korea scared Americans by visualizing a missile attack on the island of Guam. With the help of a propaganda video, Pyongyang demonstrated its readiness for "merciless revenge" for the joint exercises of the United States and South Korea, which the DPRK leadership considers a hostile manifestation.

The video shows the launch of North Korean medium-range ballistic missiles that rush to Guam. Under disturbing music, military maneuvers take place. Then the screen swims portraits of American commanders and politicians, among whom there is also vice-president Mike Pence. His face is enveloped in flames. At the culmination moment, US President Donald Trump appears on the video, who looks at the cemetery filled with crosses.

"Americans should live with their eyes wide open and ears, and they will worry about days and nights because of the Hwaseon-12 missiles, not knowing when they will be launched," the Yonhap news agency reported..

On a pop-up sign next to a photograph of US Secretary of Defense James Mattiss, it says that the DPRK wants American politicians to think twice before commencing military action against the country. Pyongyang is sure that time is not playing on the side of the US, and "the Americans will be in shock," expecting a missile strike.

The military spokesman for the DPRK, commenting on the news of the military exercises of the United States and South Korea, said that Americans should not think that Pyongyang is "idle". Continuing exercises and constant visits of American high-ranking officials to the peninsula in North Korea are perceived as fraudulent maneuvers. The US should not forget that Pyongyang is constantly monitoring their actions, "keeps a finger on the trigger and is ready to bring down a flurry of fire on the enemy".

Against the backdrop of the silent "war of words" between Washington and Pyongyang, such statements sound inordinately militant, the edition of The Telegraph.

The fact that the leadership of the northern part of the Korean peninsula is not just playing with words but is really ready for decisive action is evidenced by the secret visit of DPRK leader Kim Jong Un to the command post in the frontier zone. The trip took place in early August, but it is known about it only now, according to the South Korean media.

The head of state visited one of the parts of the Korean People's Army, which is located only 1 km from the state border with South Korea. According to South Korean intelligence, such a secret inspection looks extremely atypical and may indicate Pyongyang's preparations for new military provocations against Seoul.

The tension on the Korean peninsula increased after the DPRK conducted new missile tests in early July. The UN Security Council imposed additional sanctions against North Korea.

US President Donald Trump promised to punish Pyongyang with "fire and fury" if he did not stop threatening the US with a missile strike.

Against this backdrop, Washington and Seoul began on August 21 the traditional command-staff exercise Ulchi - Freedom Guardian, which caused a sharp protest from Pyongyang. South Korean President Mun Zhe Ying said yesterday that North Korea should not take this round of exercises as an excuse for any further provocations. Maneuvers "are not aimed at increasing military tension on the Korean peninsula," said the politician.
