From February 19, 2025, the repair work of the automobile bridge over the West Bug River at the Ustilug -Zosin checkpoint will begin, which will entail a delay in the movement of transport. Work will last until mid -January 2026, so Ukrainians recommend choosing other checkpoints.
This was reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine. Repair work will be carried out to ensure the durability and safety of the bridge over the Western Bug, which is an important part of the transport infrastructure connecting Ukraine with Poland. The bridge is the key for the transportation of goods and passengers between the two countries, so any work on it cannot pass without influence on the road traffic. Given the volume of work, transport movements will be limited.
Repair implies significant work on strengthening the structures of the bridge, as well as a partial overlap or restriction of certain strips for travel. This can cause traffic jams at the border crossing, which, in turn, will lead to delays for those who plan to cross the border through this checkpoint.
It is expected that repair work will last until mid -January 2026. This means that citizens planning trips through the Ustilug -Zosin checkpoint should be prepared for possible delays for a significant period of time. Given that a large number of cargo and passenger vehicles pass through this checkpoint, repairs can create significant difficulties for planning trips. In addition, according to forecasts, delays for vehicles on the Polish side of the border are possible, which will only aggravate the situation.
In connection with the repair, citizens are recommended to consider this information when planning their trips. If there is such an opportunity, you should consider alternative checkpoints for crossing the border in order to avoid delays.
There are other checkpoints between Ukraine and Poland, which can be a good alternative to Ustilug - Zosin. These are such points as " However, it should be noted that these checkpoints can also be loaded, so it is important to check the current situation before leaving.
