Corruption is one of the main problems of Ukraine, which in the destructive consequences is inferior only to the most terrible catastrophe in the modern history of the country - war. Its growth over the past 12 months has noticed 7 out of 10 citizens.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey published by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption as part of the study " Thus, it turned out that corruption is considered a serious problem:.
The only attitude towards war is worse: 97.6% and 96.8%, respectively.. Ordinary Ukrainians and entrepreneurs see less risks in the high cost of life and falling income, an unfair system of justice, as well as the migration of the population from Ukraine.
The worst manifestation of corruption and the population and entrepreneurs consider political corruption at the highest level (including among the government or in the Verkhovna Rada), and the spheres where corruption is most common, they respectively called legal proceedings and customs. Also, the index of perception of corruption by the population, reflecting the feeling of its prevalence, reached a record for at least the last 7 years - 4.52 out of 5 points (the highest was in 2017 - 4.49). Entrepreneurs assessed the prevalence of corruption at 4.39.
The survey has demonstrated that over the past year, 7 out of 10 Ukrainians (69.1%) have noticed an increase in corruption in Ukraine, which has not been observed at least since 2019.
At the same time, only 2.5% of respondents reported a decrease in the number of corruption schemes in Ukraine.
The respondents also asked who was most responsible for counteracting corruption, to which more than half (56.5% of the population and 51.9% of businesses) called the president and his office. However, the work in this direction of the Security Service of Ukraine was evaluated above (2.15 and 2.6 with 5 - the population and business, respectively).
