The Association of International Foreign Assistants of Ukraine (AMEU) appealed to the government with an appeal to stop the revision of the tariff policy of Ukrzaliznitsa JSC regarding the increase in betting for container transports weighing more than 26 tons.

This is stated in the appeal of AMEU provided by the Ukrainian media.

According to the Association, more than 95% of container cargoes in the direction of the ports of Big Odessa and internal regions are currently delivered by vehicles. The main reasons for this in the AMEU are the flexibility of routes, delivery speed (1 day by car versus 4-5 days by rail), as well as less costs for the "

The appeal also emphasizes that the establishment of a tariff limit of 26 tons contradicts the international standards of marine logistics and creates discriminatory conditions for container transportation, which these standards comply with.

In addition, AMEU draws attention to the fact that container carriers do not have access to the benefits provided for intermodal trains, which are mainly used to transport grains.

In this regard, the Association of International Foreign Transcedents of Ukraine proposed:.

- stop any actions to revise container transportation of more than 26 tons until open consultations with market participants and expert community;

- establish the limit threshold of the use of increased tariffs at a level of at least 28.5 tons of nets, which complies with international standards of sea container transportation;

- ensure equal access to tariff stimulation mechanisms for all operators, including container carriers, on conditions similar to the intermodal trains of grain group;

- Create an interdepartmental working group under the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories with the involvement of business representatives, Ukrzaliznitsa JSC, GRSU and specialized associations to develop a coordinated long -term tariff strategy;

- develop and implement a state program for supporting railway container transportation.
