Despite the fact that international organizations, president, society and business support the completion of the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant, the Verkhovna Rada has not yet adopted the necessary bill.

This was announced in the commentary of RBC-Ukraine by political scientist Petr Oleshchuk, commenting on the situation around the vote for the purchase of nuclear reactors in Bulgaria.

" Magate supports the completion of power units, 80% of Ukrainians approve the project, the President of Zelensky called on the deputies to vote, and the American company Westinghouse is ready to provide fuel. However, the parliament continues to postpone the vote, as if it is about some secondary issue, ”Oleshchuk noted.

According to him, the energy security of Ukraine is not a topic for political games.

" We cannot afford to delay this process, because delay only plays into the hands of those who want to leave the country dependent on the unstable energy resources market, ”the political scientist emphasized.

The bill on the purchase of nuclear reactors in Bulgaria for completing the HEPs should be submitted to the voting room next week.

Oleshchuk emphasized that tightening voting can negatively affect not only energy, but also on the international reputation of Ukraine.

" However, if the parliament will continue to postpone the decision, it may look like Ukraine’s reluctance to implement large -scale energy projects even if all resources have, ”the expert summed up.

Recall that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky recently called on parliamentarians to vote the bill as quickly as possible.
