“The warm weather that settled in Ukraine last week significantly accelerated the ripening of local greenhouse vegetables.. More and more Ukrainian plants report the beginning of a new season for the sale of greenhouse tomato,” analysts explained.

Experts noted that the supply of local tomatoes on the market is rather small, and the starting price in this segment varies between 70-85 UAH/kg ($1.91-2.32/kg), which is on average 23% cheaper than the first.

Analysts added that there is also an imported tomato produced in Turkey on the Ukrainian market, which currently constitutes the main offer on the market..

“At the same time, imported tomatoes are offered for sale much cheaper than local products.. Prices for Turkish tomatoes are announced in the range of UAH 55-70/kg ($1.50-1.91/kg), which is on average 26% cheaper than a week earlier,” they concluded..
