Ukrainians can soon receive payments for electricity with twice the amount than before. The increase in tariffs is expected immediately after the end of the heating season. This was announced by Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko, writes glavcom. ua.

“Today, the tariff for household consumers is about four times lower than the real price of energy. And, supporting this tariff, the state subsidizes every kilowatt-hour, regardless of the income level of all consumers. If earlier you could pay 360 hryvnia for consumption of 250 kWh, then for doubling the tariff the bill will increase to 720 hryvnia. On average, payment for electricity in Ukraine in 2023 can grow from the current UAH 240 per month to UAH 470 (at a tariff of UAH 2.8 / kWh) or up to about UAH 840 (at market pricing).
