In Ukraine, the remuneration of teachers is determined in accordance with the law and the collective agreement, if it is concluded. According to Decree No. 1411, the increase in the salaries of teachers in 2023 has been canceled in Ukraine. The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers suspends the norm regulating the preliminary announcement that from January 1, 2023, the minimum wage rate for a teacher should be four living wages. As of January 1, 2023, the cost of living is UAH 2,684. Thus, the remuneration of teachers in educational institutions in 2023 remains at the level of the previous year.

What allowances can teachers receive?.

In addition to the basic salary, teachers can receive additional payments for teaching skills, scientific work, additional payments for teaching additional subjects, class management, various types of additional payments and compensations (for example, for teaching in difficult or harmful conditions, for exceeding standards).

The amount of additional payments for certain types of pedagogical activities to employees in state and municipal institutions and educational institutions are established in accordance with Decree No. 1391.

The most common surcharges and allowances for teachers are:.

allowance for the experience of pedagogical (also scientific and pedagogical) work - 10% (three years), 20% (20 years) and 30% (30 years);

bonus for the prestige of work - 20%;

surcharge for checking written work - 15% (in preparatory and grades 1-4, regardless of workload), 10-20% (in grades 5-12).

At the same time, for grades 5-12, the amount of the supplement depends on the subject in the workload of the teacher, namely: 20% - language and literature, 15% - mathematics, 10% - foreign language, drawing, technical mechanics;

extra charge for classroom management - 20% (grades 1-4), 25% (grades 5-12);

additional payments for the management and management of circles, laboratories - 10-15%;

certification surcharge - 20% (during the validity of the certificate).
