The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has established requirements for banks to disclose information about customer ties with Russia, which is waging war against and on the territory of Ukraine. This is stated in the message of the NBU.

New requirements should help reveal the hidden presence of the aggressor state in the Ukrainian market.

“Categories of clients for which the bank is obliged to detect and document such information, and the amount of relevant information for each category have been determined,” the statement says..

The NBU can now apply to the bank with a separate request and receive information about the ties of clients and their counterparties identified by the bank with the aggressor state.

Recall that the National Bank proposed to introduce a moratorium on the mass closure of branches of state-owned banks. Optimization in banks has become uncontrollable. Four state-owned banks reduced branches by more than 20% in a year.
