However, in the next ten years, the growth rate of the economy will slow down to about 2.3% in accordance with its cyclical nature. This opinion was expressed on Wednesday, January 10, by the leading author of the January forecast of the World Bank's Global Economic Prospects Francesca Onsorg.

According to his forecast, in the current year the world GDP will grow by 3.1% instead of the previously expected 2.9%, in 2019 growth will be 3% instead of 2.9%.

Its growth will contribute to an increase in investment, industrial production, and trade. In addition, it is expected that the negative gap in world production will be closed.

At the same time, according to the World Bank, forecasts for the next decade are not so optimistic.

According to Onsorg, the potential growth of the world economy in the next decade could be about 2.3%. However, this growth could be 1.

5 percentage points lower than in the decade preceding the global financial crisis,? Onsorg noted.

The World Bank sees the main risks in financial markets that are "currently very vulnerable" and that show signs of a possible recession.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, earlier the World Bank announced the termination of financial support for geological exploration of oil and gas fields after 2019 due to the growing threat associated with climate change.
