10% of the richest people in Europe account for 37% of all incomes. For comparison, in Russia, 10% of the richest people receive 46% of all income, in the US and Canada by 47%, and in the Middle East (the highest inequality) - 61%.

In Europe as a whole, the gap between rich and poor has slightly increased over the past 35 years (from 32% to 37%). In some countries, for example, in Germany, the level of income inequality is now comparable to the inequality before the First World War. In the middle of the twentieth century, the income gap narrowed, but since the 80s it has been increasing around the world, notes EuroPulse.
