Russians are getting richer than everyone else in the world

Consulting company Capgemini has submitted the annual report of the World Wealth Report 2017 with data on the growth of the well-being of individuals in various countries of the world. According to this document, the share of citizens with assets worth at least $ 1 million over the past year grew in Russia by almost 20 percentage points. In this indicator, Russia takes the unconditional first place. The second and third places were divided by Indonesia and the Netherlands, where over the past year the number of dollar millionaires increased by 13.7 percentage points. Also, the top 10 included Norway (13.2 p. ), Thailand (12.7 p. ), Sweden (12.6 p. ), Taiwan (11.9 p. ), Canada (11.3 p. ), Brazil and France (10.7 percentage points each). It is noteworthy that analysts recorded in 2016. in Russia a sharp increase in millionaires, whereas in 2015 this layer of citizens fell by 1.8 percentage points. At the same time, in terms of the number of millionaires in absolute terms, Russia was outside the top ten - 15th. At the end of 2016. in Russia there were only 182 thousand people. The richest people live in the USA (4.8 million people), Japan (2.9 million) and Germany (1.2 million). In China, counted only 1.1 million millionaires - this is the fourth result in the world.

The authors of the report note that the first four countries account for 61% of all millionaires in the world.

According to the study, the total state of all millionaires on the planet in 2016. amounted to $ 63.5 trillion, of which more than $ 1 trillion - "Russian" share. Analysts pay attention that in 2010. this figure was $ 42.7 trillion. It is expected that in 2025 the total state of millionaires will reach $ 100 trillion, and their number will grow to 16.5 million people.
