During this time, London will have to transfer compensation payments to Brussels to cover its obligations to the European Union. After Brexit, the EU will not receive from 10 to 12 billion euros of budget funds a year.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Bild on Monday, August 7, by the European Commissioner for Budget Guenther Oettinger. At the same time, he stressed that it is planned to cover the deficit by reducing costs and increasing the burden on other member countries. Ettinger also expressed the opinion that in future Brussels would have to give up the practice of financial indulgence for a number of EU states.

Recall, the official withdrawal of Britain from the EU is scheduled for March 29, 2019. The country will still have to bear some financial burden for a number of long-term programs, to which it has pledged earlier.

As reported by URA-Inform, the European Parliament threatened the UK to veto negotiations on secession from the European Union. If Britain does not agree to improve the conditions under which EU citizens can stay in the United Kingdom, the negotiations will be suspended.
