The Central Bank of Syria issued a new bill, which is decorated with the image of the country's President Bashar Assad. As reported by TASS referring to the Syrian media, this is the largest banknote in the country - 2000 Syrian pounds. In terms of this is about 4 dollars. Prior to this, the largest was a bill of 1,000 Syrian pounds.
The note, which was presented on Sunday by the head of Syrian Central Bank Dureid Durgam, will have circulation in Damascus and a number of provinces. According to the banker, a new bill is difficult to forge. The portrait of Bashar Assad is placed on the front side of the banknote, and on the back - the People's Council (unicameral parliament of Syria).
