Rob Knight, an 88-year-old farmer from Somerset, England, is at the center of a scandal that threatens him with imprisonment.. The reason is the refusal to restore and pay a fine for the destroyed part of the wall that he built on his site back in 1973. The Daily Star writes about this.

The farmer removed part of the concrete structure in 2017 to provide access to his land, but the local council called the wall " Since then, Knight has faced a lengthy legal battle that has lasted six years..

" It doesn't matter what we say, no one listens to us. The only way to protect yourself is to be prepared to go to jail,"

Knight missed the appeal deadline and received ?3,000 in fines that he is unable to pay. In October 2024, a judge warned him of the possibility of up to 45 days in prison if the fine was not paid and the wall was not restored..

Rob Knight, who has the support of his family, insists he would rather face jail time than submit to the council's decision..

" It was our legal right,"

Somerset Council, for its part, maintains that their actions are legal and an investigation is ongoing.. But for Knight, the matter became personal..

" We're tired of fighting.

But I'm not going to give up,"

Focus previously reported that the couple bought an entire village for the price of one house and are looking for new residents. Maaike Geurts and Tibor Strausz paid 350 thousand euros for the abandoned settlement and are already working to turn it into an environmentally sustainable and prosperous community.

It also became known that the woman explained why she lives on a remote island that many have not heard of. The tiny piece of land known as Calf Man became her home for nine months, despite harsh conditions that included only being able to shower once a week..
